The Flames bounced back from a tough loss to Adelaide to outlast the Capitals in Canberra 82-76 on Saturday, 5 December.

Marking our third win against the Caps this season, five Flames scored in double figures. #10 Katie Ebzery top scored with 16 points, followed closely by #4 Tahlia Tupaea and #31 Joslyn Tinkle, both with 15 points.

With scores tied at 70-70 with three minutes to play the Flames were able to complete a 12-6 run to claim the win with #3 Hayley Moffat and Tupaea making key free throws, while Tupaea also snared a key late steal.

Despite the Capitals offensive power through Abby Bishop and Renee Montgomery, scoring 26 points each, the Flames held on in a tight finish.

In the end the Flames’ had too many weapons and the need to secure a win after two losses proved too much.

The Flames are set for a blockbuster ‘Last Bounce’ doubleheader with the MightyMite Sydney Kings in the final basketball event ever at the Qantas Credit Union Arena (formerly Sydney Entertainment Centre) on Sunday, 13 December.
