The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames have secured two more talented signings with the addition of Hayley Moffatt and Nicole How to the roster.

Hayley Moffatt has recently arrived in Sydney after another successful season with the Nunawading Spectres in the South East Australian Basketball League (SEABL).

Hayley was a consistent and dynamic small forward who averaged 9.8 points per game, 5.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, shooting at 42.1 per cent from the field.

Combined with her experience in the SEABL competition where she has played almost 200 games, Hayley has also shown she is a valuable contributor at the WNBL level having played for both the West Coast Waves and the Logan Thunder.

The 176cm forward is known for her strong defensive game, often locking down key opposition players, which will prove invaluable for the Flames.

Moffatt is excited and eager about the season, “I’m looking forward to working hard and learning from a lot of great players in the team, I’ve heard lots of great things about the club” she said.

The team will also welcome NSW Hills association junior Nicole How.

Nicole has been a consistent performer in the Waratah ABA competition twice claiming the Most Valuable Player award for her team and being selected in the All-Star team.

Nicole’s consistent performances resulted in her representing Great Britain in the 2014 European Championship qualifiers.

How was proud to be representing the Flames this season, “Being a NSW junior, it’s always been a goal of mine to play in Sydney’s only premier women’s team”.

“Being involved with the program will offer me a great opportunity to develop my game further by training with extremely talented players like Leilani and Katie Rae” she said.

Head coach Shannon Seebohm was delighted to have both Moffatt and How on board stating “Signing quality players like this will add depth to our roster, both girls have terrific attitudes and will no doubt be successful within the team.”

You can catch both the girls in action in the Flames first home game of the season, on Saturday 1 November at Brydens Stadium, located at Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre.
