Over 150 students competed in Wednesday afternoon’s 5km run, the final event on the 2012 Interfaculty Sport calendar, which began and was completed at Sydney Uni Oval No. 1.

Jack Colreavy (Commerce) finished in first place overall and men’s champion, while Claire Raper (Law) took out the female category. Jules Heath (Law) finished second and Alex Williamson (Architecture) third, in the men’s category. In the women’s category, Jessica Fitt (Engineering) and Tenika O’Brien (Education) took out the minor placings.

After an exciting afternoon of action, the Faculty of Education were awarded the Emily Small Shield for earning the most points over the course of 2012.

Points are awarded to the winners and place-getters of each competition whilst participation points are also given to all faculties whose students compete. Competitions include touch football, soccer, netball, basketball, cricket and tennis to name a few.

Participation is FREE and provides an opportunity for undergraduates, postgraduate students and staff to have fun and compete for their faculty in a social atmosphere.
