Sydney University Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Sam Douglas finished second in the Port Stephens Olympic Traitahlon – the final Australian Triathlon race before the winter break.

Despite a lack of training (due to study) and having to use a borrowed bike, Douglas finished second behind training partner  Kieran Roche with an official race time of 02:03:26.

Douglas, who is studying a B. Education (Secondary: Human Movement and Health Education) at the University of Sydney, will concentrate on his Semester 1 exams before turning his attention to a training camp in Yamba.

Douglas’s winter schedule is already packed with winter fun runs such as the Sutherland to Surf and the City to Surf, as well as the Parramatta Park Duathlon series and some Cross Country runs with the Sutherland District Athletics Club.
