It will be another case of déjà vu for the Sydney Uni women’s honours squad, who will compete in their sixth straight State Volleyball League grand final this Sunday.

Following an unblemished regular season record of seven wins from seven games, Sydney Uni battered their semi-final opponents – the Hills Dragons – on Sunday, prevailing in three straight sets in just under an hour to set up a grand final against the fourth placed UTS United.

Sydney Uni have dropped just 9 sets in eight games in 2012, but four of those sets dropped came in the two games they have played against United. The girls will be looking for their third grand final win in their last six attempts.

Also competing in a grand final this weekend is the Sydney Uni division one women’s team, who will take on minor premiers Baulkham Hills.

Just a week after going down to Manly in the final regular season match of the season, Sydney Uni defeated the 2011 champions in their semi final on Sunday by 3 sets to 1.

Honours Grand Final v UTS United – 12pm, Sunday September 16
Division 1 Grand Final v Baulkham Hills – 10.30am, Sunday September 16

Both games will be held at Sydney Olympic Park Sports Halls, Grand Pde, Olympic Park. Entry is entirely free.
