Sydney Uni finished the final day of the
Australian Short Course Championships’ meet with a gold medal in the Men’s 100m
freestyle, 4th in the men’s 100m individual medley, 8th
women’s 200m breaststroke and 13th
in the 200 butterfly, and 15th in the overall pointscore.
Kate Johnson finished her meet in fine
style finishing 29th in the 200m freestyle in a personal best time of 2.02.16.
Stephen Parkes made the B final of the 200m
butterfly in a personal best time of 1.58.54.
Meagan Ramsay made her 3rd final
of the meet qualifying 7th fastest for the 200m breaststroke final,
again in a personal best time of 2.28.62.
Matt Abood claimed gold in the 100m
freestyle in a very fast time of 47.05, which should see him chosen to
represent Australian at the World Short Course Championships to be held in
Stephen Parkes finished 4th in the 100m individual
medley in 54.46 narrowly missing a podium finish by .1 sec and backed up for
the B final of the 200m butterfly.
Meagan Ramsay finished a creditable 8th
in the 200m breaststroke final in 2.28.68.
The Men’s 4 x 100m A medley relay put in an
incredible performance to finish 4th in 3.38.27. The team consisted of David Wise, Stephen
Parkes, Sam McConnell and Matthew Abood. The B team of 10th Tim
Halliday, Alistaire Pickles, Dylan Curtis, Gordon Willis finished 10th.
The Women’s medley relay team finished
