SUANFC are very happy to announce Daniel Gilmore has signed a new 2 year deal to remain the senior coach of SUANFC’s NEAFL side until the end of 2016. This is a great announcement for the club as Gilmore begins his third season in charge of our NEAFL outfit. Gilmore has invested heavily not just into the club at Sydney Uni but into the code of AFL in NSW. His desire is to see more and more elite players from NSW find their way onto AFL lists. Gilmore was instrumental in assisting the club navigate its way through the NEAFL competition changes and was able to ensure that SUANFC attained a sustainable elite talent pathway into the club.

General Manager Tristan Liles is extremely pleased with the appointment. “Daniel has done nothing but throw everything he has at this football club. He has a deep desire to see the game grow and develop in NSW and has now positioned SUANFC at the very forefront of this growth, and for this we are thankful and excited”.

Our Premier Division side would also like to announce the retainment of Anton Turco as senior coach for 2015. Anton came to the club at the beginning of the 2014 campaign for his first season of senior coaching and showed his immense potential. In his first season at the club he took the Premier Division team to the finals for the first time since the inception of NEAFL. The landscape has shifted slightly for Turco this year with SUANFC Premier Division equalisation measures in place for the 2015 season. We are sure he will adapt quickly to these changes and be able to again push for a high quality of success in the 2015 campaign.

General Manager Tristan Liles was extremely happy to have Anton back on board for 2015. “Anton is a rare find. He is a young lad with many years playing experience at a national second tier level and who can read the game very well and communicate clearly to his players. We look forward to seeing Anton build on his 2014 success”.

To round off the retention of all our senior coaches the U19 Colts have retained the services of Paul Markou and the Division 1 Blues are again being led by the back to back Premiership winning coach Adam Clark.

SUANFC Vice President and Division 1 Blues player Sam Power is every excited to have Clark coaching the Blues in 2015. “Days after being inducted into SUANFC life membership and just a few weeks after leading the Division 2 side to back to back premierships; Clarky agreed to lead the team into its Division 1 campaign for 2015. He will be a great asset for the club being involved from an early stage for the 2015 season. He has the respect of the playing group and the wider SUANFC community; we wish him the best of luck for a tilt at the premiership in the strong Division 1 competition.”

Our Premier Division coach Anton Turco was full of praise for the returning Colts coach Paul Markou. “Paul stepped into the big shoes of Rod Carter at the clubs underage level late in the preseason for the 2014 season. He impressed with his enthusiasm, attention to detail and dedication to development of his young players. Paul’s 2015 signing as colts coach is exciting and he will continue to drive a quality program.”

On Behalf of SUANFC we would love to congratulate and thank all of our senior coaches for the 2015 season.
