Sydney University Fencing Club have had a fantastic few weeks of competition.

At the weekend the Club hosted the Sydney Uni Club Sabre Championships. Fletcher May was named the Men’s Club Champion, and the Women’s Club Champion was taken out by Wenshin Ji.

In the week prior the Fencing Club competed in competitions at the NSW Fencing Centre

Harriet Jordan won gold in the Veteran Womens Sabre, and took silver in both the Mixed Veteran Sabre and Open Womens Sabre.

Katherine Kwa won silver and Patrick Daley bronze in the Open Womens and Open Mens Foil, respectively.

And Sara Scott took bronze in the Open Women’s Epee behind two regular club training attendees – Sarah Osvath and Lisa Gemell.

In late August the Club also competed in the NSW Epee State Club Teams Competition.

The Women’s University of Sydney Silver Swords and MQ composite team, which featured Em Kerrison, Sara Scott, Courtney Buchanan (Silver Swords) and Lisa Gemell (MQ) claimed gold.  

The University of Sydney Men’s team included Chris Gemell, Zier Gascoigne, Li Roy, Taewon Song. They took silver in the competition.
