Amanda Clark watched a good friend transform his life from being overweight – due to too much partying – to becoming an IRONMAN. She would get goose bumps watching him complete an event that lasted for over 10 hours. At that point she knew she had to be part of that one day. So she signed up for her first Elite Energy triathlon, and after her first race she knew that she would not stop until she completed an IRONMAN.

As creatures of habit, we tend to stick to what we know – especially on the gym floor. However the benefits of adding variety to your workout are countless, and will improve your health in more ways than one.

Behind at half time in both games, the Sydney Uni Sparks displayed a lot of resilience and determination to complete the Canberra double with two wins. 

The Lions returned with a big roar this week to comfortably dismantle the UTS Tigers before the Queen’s Birthday long weekend break.

Sydney Uni have put together another dominant performance to place themselves back into the winners circle in Round 9. 

The league leading Kilsyth Cobras ended the Sydney Uni Sparks four game win streak. They eventually beat the home side 79-67 and extended their own winning streak to six in the process.

Competition leaders Norwest Polecats were too strong for Sydney University Lions, running out 38-14 winners in their Round 6 NSW Tertiary Cup match at Henson Park on Saturday.

The University of Sydney’s Chancellor Belinda Hutchinson AM, Vice Chancellor Dr Michael Spence and the Hon Anthony Roberts MP joined around 250 guests to celebrate the official opening of Sydney University Boat Club’s (SUBC) Thyne Reid Boatshed in Lane Cove on Saturday.
