Sydney University Elite Athlete Program scholarship holder and disability swimmer Sarah Hilt has proven that anything is possible, with the application of hard work and a spades of determination.

Last year Lara Tamsett was the women’s champion of The Sun-Herald City2Surf presented by Westpac and this year she is training hard to achieve back to back titles. To spur her on even more, Tamsett has decided to raise funds for the charity the Black Dog Institute.

Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness Elite Athlete Program scholarship holder Rosalyn Lawrence is a canoe world champion after her stellar performance in the women’s C1 to take gold at the 2011 ICF Wildwater Sprint World Championships last week in Germany.

The newly named Sydney Uni WheelKings started off their season in mixed fashion, defeating the Nova Employment West Sydney Razorbacks in a thriller 80-79 on Saturday before going down to the same opposition 80-57 the following day. 

Sydney University Sport & Fitness (SUSF) lost one of its favourite sons on Friday with the passing of rugby union Blue David Brockhoff, aged 83.

Saturday’s 50-12 romp over Warringah in Round 11 of the Sydney grade rugby competition at No.1 Oval kept Sydney University firmly entrenched in fourth place behind Eastwood, Eastern Suburbs and Manly.

Sydney University Elite Athlete scholarship holders, and brothers, Derek and Jordan Mulhearn earned top 10 finishes in the open men’s10 mile walk at the 2011 National Championships held in Canberra over the weekend.

Over the weekend Sydney University women’s rugby team contributed 11 players in the Sydney Women’s Representative team’s win against the NSW Country Women’s team 25-17.
