Six Sydney University Baseball Club representatives have formed the core of the NSW baseball squad that has taken out the Under 23 National Baseball Championships in Adelaide.

The Flames burned brightly from the start with a fast-passing game setting them up for a stylish celebration of the first game on their new pine.

Brydens Sydney Uni Flames started their two-match road trip on a positive note with an 83-68 win over Canberra Capitals to kick off the 2013-14 Women’s National Basketball League season.

Sydney University finished in third spot overall behind Monash (8 gold) and eventual winners Melbourne (10 gold). We also had a massive 62 athletes selected in Green and Gold teams, which is a huge result and great achievement for these students.

In what will be remembered as one of the most dominant performances in the history of the event, Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) were crowned both the men’s and women’s champions at Australian Uni Game, winning 29 medals and having 12 team members selected on the Green and Gold team.

Day four of the 2013 AUG had some surprise victories for Sydney Uni and some agonising defeats. Thursday’s competition is equal to what the AFL call the premiership quarter. It is the day that many team sports fight their way into the semi-finals and gold medal play-offs, while other teams fight off the threat of relegation from Division One.
