Sydney University Soccer Football Club (SUSFC) has begun their 2014 pre-season brightly, with both the men’s and women’s first grade teams picking up wins in a busy weekend of football.

On Friday night Sydney University’s men’s first grade team defeated South Australian National Premier League outfit the Western Strikers 2-0 at The Square, Sydney University.

Sydney Uni then backed up again on Sunday to defeat the Bankstown Berries 1-0, ensuring a very solid start to the season for new men’s coach and former Socceroos Coach Raul Blanco.

Travelling to Harrie Denning Football Centre on Sunday for a trial against Sutherland was Sydney Uni’s women’s first grade team. They proved far too strong for Sutherland, recording an impressive 4-0 win.

This weekend the women’s team take on the Illawarra Stingrays away from home as they sharpen their focus before Round 1 of the Football NSW Womens National Premier League 1 Pre Season Cup , which begins the following weekend.

Sydney’s Uni’s All Age Men’s and Womens teams have begun trials and they will continue over the coming weeks. Interested players should visit the club’s website for further details. http://www.susfc.org.au/HomePage
