Sydney University remains unbeaten in both the men’s and women’s divisions of the national University Basketball League after big Round 4 wins over the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology at the SUSF court on Tuesday night.

The Sydney University men’s side defeated RMIT 112-76, while the women’s side accounted for RMIT by 87-42.

The men’s side opened the 2024 season with a 71-56 result over the University of the Sunshine Coast at UniSC and followed that with an 89-61 result over UNSW and a 90-66 win over Victoria University, both at the SUSF court.

They head the UBL ladder on 15 points, with the University of Melbourne (12), La Trobe University (11), University of Adelaide (Uni Waatu 10),  the University of Tasmania (9) and the University of the Sunshine Coast (8) making up the top six in the 14 round competition.

Sydney University women’s side opened the season with a 68-49 win over the University of the Sunshine Coast and backed that up with an 80-36 result of UNSW and a 66-52 result over Victoria University.

They head the women’s ladder on 15 points, with La Trobe University (13), Victoria University (11), Australian Catholic University (10), University of Tasmania (9) and Curtin University (8) making up the top six.

Sydney University has the bye in Round 5, but will travel to Melbourne for Round 6 matches against the University Melbourne on April 22 and La Trobe University on April 24.
