Olympic Champion and Sydney University Alumni Jessica Fox will be making Australian history, becoming the first Australian canoe slalom athlete to compete at four Olympics, due to her selection in the Australian Olympic team to Paris 2024.

The nomination criteria under the Paddle Australia’s athletes expresses eligibility for early nomination if they achieved specified benchmark results during the 2023 season. Jess was able to secure this with wins in the overall World Cup titles in all K1 and C1, with gold in the K1 and bronze in the C1.

Jess is also one of Australia’s most embellished canoe slalom athletes of all time, winning an overall of one gold, one silver, and two bronze medals in three Olympics. This to go with her past few weeks where Jess won her 10th World Championship and being her 4th K1 championship.

Ironically where Jess won the 10th championship was also in London the place where she won her first Olympic medal in the London Olympic 2012.

From everyone at Sydney University, we would like to congratulate her on the remarkable achievement and to wish Jess all the best on her road to Paris 24 and beyond as she looks to bring home Gold for Australia.
