Sydney University women’s and men’s teams remain unbeaten after two rounds of the 2022 University Basketball League season.

Sydney University hosted the University of Adelaide Waatu in the first of the double-header for Round 2 matches on Tuesday, with the women rattling up a 90-36 result and the men winning 98-54.

Elizajane Loader led the scoring with 13 for Sydney University in the women’s match. She also collected six rebounds to go along with four assists. Sarah Wacher posted 11 points for the winners, while Sophie Cardillo posted six points for UofA to go along with seven rebounds.

Benjamin Falira led the scoring in the men’s encounter with 16, to go along with 12 rebounds and two assists. Benjamin Jerome contributed 12 points and Parker Dale also reached double figures, with 10 points. Jeremy Harford led the scoring for the visitors with nine points, along with 11 rebounds.

The Sports and Aquatic Centre court also hosted the University of the Sunshine Coast Spartans on Wednesday for the second of the Round 2 double-header matches, with SUBC women posting a 74-69 result and the men winning 86-55.

Sydney University will play Curtin University Carnabys on April 5 and the University of Western Australia Maali on April 6 in Round 3 matches in Perth.
