Sydney Uni Athletics Club were crowned NSW Champions in both the men’s and women’s events at the NSW Club Championships on Saturday. Remarkably the win was the 8th consecutive victory for the club with the unbeaten run stretching all the way back to 2012.

The SUAC A team were represented by Sarah Healey, Larissa Pasternatsky, Gen Cowie, Holly Campbell, Mackenzie Little and Emily Duve. The standout performance was the 4×100 for the girls clocking a time of 47.30 which is the fastest by a club team in Australia this year. The Sydney University B team was 5th with the C team 11th in the same event.
In the men’s event, SUAC were just 9 points clear of UTS with the Sydney University B team taking the bronze medal just 14 points further back. The SUAC A team were represented by Jin Su Jung, Nick Hough, Lachlan Raper, Michael Pratomo, Connor Murphy and Joe Burgess. As in the women’s event the standout performance for the men came in the 4×100, running a slick 41.13 for the win which again like the women was the fastest by a club team in Australia in 2020.
The next outing for SUAC athletes will be at the NSW 3000m championships in a fortnight’s time.
