Sydney University Women’s First Grade soccer side wrapped up the 2019 minor premiership in the NPL NSW competition with a 4-0 disposal of NWS Koalas at Christie Park on Sunday.
The Students will host Illawarra Stingrays at Sydney University Football Ground in the final round of the season proper this Sunday, but hold a five-point buffer at the top of the table.
With 15 wins, five draws and one loss from their 21 rounds, Sydney University head the ladder on 50 points, with Sydney Olympic (45), Illawarra Stingrays (40), Northern Tigers (40), Blacktown Spartans (38) and Macarthur Rams (38) making up the top six.
Sydney University Women’s Reserve Grade will also collect the minor premiership. They head the table on 58 points going into the final round, three ahead of NWS Koalas, but have a huge for and against advantage.
The Club’s Under 17s need to win the final round match to secure a minor premiership. They top the table on 50 points, just two clear of Blacktown Spartans.
Sydney University’s Under 15s and Under 14s are assured of finals football, with both sides sitting third on their ladders.
Needless to say, Sydney University have already collected the women’s Club Championship for 2019.
