Anthony Overton scored three of Sydney University’s eight tries in their 40-26 win over Moorebank Rams in a Round 15 Sydney Shield clash at Terry Lamb Complex on Sunday.
Sydney University led 20-10 at halftime on the back of tries from James Morgan, Anthony Overton, Joshua Boumelhem and Neena Simpson.
And they went on with the job in the second half, with Overton grabbing another two and Boumelhem posting a second. Daniel Arahu also bagged a 77th minute try to add to his four conversions.
In their first season in the Sydney Shield, Sydney University are 10th in the 12-team competition with three wins from their 12 games. Cabramatta head the ladder on 28 points, with St Marys Saints (23), East Campbelltown Eagles (22), Guilford Owls (22), Ryde-Eastwood Hawks (18) and Wentworthville Magpies (16) making up the top six.
Sydney University will take on Asquith Magpies in a Round 16 encounter, with a 1pm start at Storey Park on Sunday.
Meanwhile, Sydney University posted a 32-26 result over Western Sydney University Ducks in a Round 8 Tertiary Championship match at Bankstown Campus Oval on Saturday.
