Sydney University’s seven teams in Sydney’s premier rugby union competition are all on track for grand final berths after contesting qualifying finals on Saturday.

Sydney University Football Club’s First Grade earned a major semi-final berth against Manly in the Shute Shield after accounting for Eastern Suburbs 21-13 in their qualifying final at Sydney University Football Ground.

The Students crossed for three tries courtesy of representative halfback Jack Gordon, who bagged a pair, and lock Lachlan Swinton, with winger James Kane landing three conversions.

Prop Cody Walker and centre James Field scored Easts’ two tries, with five-eighth Mack Mason landing one conversion.
