Sydney University Judo Club competed at the 2018 Hunter Winter Open in Newcastle at the weekend and came home with some impressive results.
Gunhee Min won a silver medal (in teams) and a gold medal (in U60+U66 combined division), while Alex Sheychenko won a gold medal (in teams) and a silver medal (in Men Open weight).
Ririko Noda won a gold medal (in Women Open weight) and Rachel Mak won a bronze medal (in Women Open weight). Katia Yurkova obtained a ‘Best spirit of Judoka’ medal.
Sydney University Judo Club kids also competed in this tournament, with Mirei winning two gold medals (in both teams and U29 division), earning a special award for team sprit.
