While Sydney University Soccer Football Club’ First Grade and Under 13s are battling for top six berths, all other grades are on track for finals football.

First Grade’s 2-1 loss to Hawkesbury City at David Bertenshaw Field on Saturday saw them drop to eighth place on 28 points on the NPL 3 NSW men’s ladder.

With six competition rounds to be played, St George City head the league on 45 points with Bankstown City (42), Hawkesbury City (40), Gladesville Ryde Magic (30), SD Raiders (37) and Camden Tigers (34) making up the top six.

Sydney University are third behind St George City and Gladesville Ryde Magic on the Under 20 ladder, while the Under 18s are second, one point behind Gladesville Ryde.

Sydney University head the Under 16 NPL2 NSW Youth ladder on 55 points ahead of second-placed Granville Rage on 48.

The Students are third behind St George City and Nepean on the Under 15 ladder and third behind Bankstown United and St George City on the Under 14 ladder. The Under 13s are one win out of the top six but have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Sydney University head the First and Reserve Grade ladders in the NPL Women’s competition and are in contention to make the finals in all other grades.

First Grade are on 48 points, with Illawarra Stingrays (45), Macarthur Rams (40), Manly United (40), Football NSW Institute (36) and NWS Koalas (35) making up the top six. Sydney University Reserve Grade are on 53 points ahead of second-placed NWS Koalas on 45.

The Students are second on the Under 17 ladder, third on the Under 15 ladder and sixth on the Under 14 ladder.

First Grade:  Hawkesbury City 2 (Bradley Gibson, David Gardiner) defeated Sydney University 1 (Panayoti Gotsis) at David Bertenshaw Field on Saturday.

Under 20: Sydney University 3 (Maxwell Glanville, Joshua Johnson, Andrew Green) defeated Hawkesbury City 2 (Johnathon McRae, Terry Pannowitz) at David Bertenshaw Field on Saturday.

Under 18: Hawkesbury City 1 (Jesse Swain) defeated Sydney University 0 at David Bertenshaw Field on Saturday.

 

NPL 2 Men’s competition – Round 20

Under 16: Sydney University 2 (Oscar Derkatch, Thomas McCoubrie) defeated Dunbar Rovers 1 (Jared Kleviansky) at Arlington Oval on Sunday.

Under 15: Sydney University 3 (Naruj Saw-Lim 2, Matthew Liu) defeated Dunbar Rovers 1 (Luka Morrison Powell) at Arlington Oval on Sunday.

Under 14: Dunbar Rovers 1 (Lukas Kamen) defeated Sydney University 0 at Arlington Oval on Sunday.

Under 13:  Dunbar Rovers 2 (Cristian Martinez 2) defeated Sydney University 1 (Elad Ben David) at Arlington Oval on Sunday.

NPL Women’s competition – Round 20

First Grade: Sydney University 1 (Cortnee Vine) defeated Football Institute of NSW at Sydney University Football Ground on Tuesday.

Under 17: Sydney University 2 (Tulley McEvoy 2) defeated Emerging Jets 1 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Sunday.

Under 14: Sydney University 3 (Olivia Galletta, Sarah Farrow, Rojin Polat) defeated Emerging Jets 2 at Lake Macquarie Regional Football Facility on Sunday.
