Sydney University are still a chance of claiming the minor premiership in the NPL Women’s soccer competition with five rounds to play.
Macarthur Rams head the First Grade competition on 38 points after 17 rounds, but the Students sit on 36 points with a game in hand.
The Rams have posted 11 wins, five draws and a loss, while Sydney University have recorded 11 wins, three draws and two losses.
The Students defeated Illawarra Stingrays 2-1 at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday to stay in touch with the Rams.
Julie-Ann Russell and Brianna Oliverio found the back of the net for Sydney University, while Michelle Carney scored for the visitors.
The game of the afternoon was in Reserve Grade, where Jessica Cirignano scored five goals for Sydney University in their 8-4 win over the Stingrays. Lani Johnson, Holly Duncan and Sophie Hoban also scored for the Students, while Kaelah Austin posted four goals for the visitors.
Sydney University also won the Under 17s with a 4-2 scoreline, the Under 15s with a 3-0 result and posted a 1-all draw in the Under 14s.

First Grade: Sydney University 2 (Julie-Ann Russell, Brianna Oliverio) defeated Illawarra Stingrays 1 (Michelle Carney) at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday.
Reserve Grade: Sydney University 8 (Jessica Cirignano 5, Lani Johnson, Holly Duncan, Sophie Hoban) defeated Illawarra Stingrays 4 (Kaelah Austin 4) at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday.
Under 17: Sydney University 4 (Nahla Quadan 2, Stephanie Augostis, Isabella Di Sipio) defeated Illawarra Stingrays 2 (Ruby Tilden, Ursula Bratjanscak) at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday.
Under 15: Sydney University 3 (Jaslyn Moore, Ana Clara Acosta Araujo, Felicity NcNeill) defeated Illawarra Stingrays 0 at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday.
Under 14: Sydney University 1 (Sarah Farrow) drew with Illawarra Stingrays 1 (Kailee Moore) at Sydney University Football Ground on Sunday.
