Michelle Jenneke earned a berth in the final of the 100m hurdles with a fourth-placed finish in her heat at the Carrara Stadium Track this morning.
The Sydney University Athletics Club member posted a time of 12.99 in Heat 2, which was won by Jamaica’s Danielle Williams in 12.69, with Jamaica’s Yanique Thompson (12.95) and England’s Tiffany Porter (12.99) filling the minor placings.
Nigeria’s Oluwarobiloba Amusan won Heat 1 in 12.73, with Australia’s Brianna Beahan running a personal best of 13.02 to finish second ahead of Jamaica’s Megan Simmonds in 13.17.
With the first three in each heat and the next two fastest advancing to tomorrow’s final, Jenneke snared berth in the decider along with England’s Alicia Barrett who finished fourth in Heat 1 in a time of 13.19.
