The young team, led by coaches Leanne Thompson and Brendan Micallef performed well in the Blue and Gold against the nations best – many achieving personal best times. The standout swimmer was nationals debutante Sam Hohne.
Sam won silver in the boys 13 years 200 individual medley and then backed it up with a bronze medal in the 100 metres butterfly. After leading strongly for three laps in the 200 butterfly, the opposition came out fighting and Sam finished just outside the medals in fourth.
