Sydney University will be chasing back-to-back championships in the 2016 Women’s Premier League when they contest the grand final on Sunday week.

The Students earned a grand final berth with a 3-2 major semi-final win over North West Sydney Koalas at Lilys Football Centre on Sunday.

They’ll meet the winner of the final between the Koalas and Manly United FC, who had a 1-0 win over Macarthur Rams in the minor semi-final.

Sydney University’s Reserve Grade side need to win their final against Blacktown Spartans to earn a grand final berth against minor premiers Manly United.

The Students went down 3-0 to Manly United in their major semi-final on Saturday, with Blacktown defeating North Shore Mariners 4-3 in the other semi-final.

The University’s Under 17s also won their way through to the grand final with a 2-1 win over Blacktown Spartans in their major semi-final.

North Shore Mariners defeated FNSW Institute 5-1 in the other Under 17 semi-final to earn a play-off with Blacktown for the grand final.

The Students finished fifth in the Under 15 competition, while the Under 13’s dropped out of contention with a 3-2 loss to Emerging Jets in their minor semi-final. The Jets will meet FNSW Institute in the play-off for a grand final berth against Blacktown Spartans.
