Sydney University’s five-wicket win over Bankstown in a semi-final of the Sydney Grade Twenty20 competition at No.1 Oval on Sunday earned them a preliminary-final berth.
The Students will meet Northern Districts at the Sydney Cricket Ground at 11am on Sunday. The other preliminary-final at the SCG will be between Randwick-Petersham and Manly-Warringah at 2.30pm, with the two winners to contest the final at the same venue at 6.30pm.
Skipper Nick Larkin topscored with 49 in Sunday’s Twenty20 win over Bankstown.
The opener’s compilation came in run-a-ball fashion as the Students posted 5-120 off 19.2 overs in reply to Bankstown’s 8-119 off 20 overs.
Larkin also topscored for the Students on Saturday when he cracked 50 in Sydney University’s 6(dec)-125 in reply to Sutherland’s 117, on the first day of a Round 4 Sydney Grade two-day match.
The Students have Sutherland 1-15 in their second innings with a view to outright points when the resume battle next Saturday.
