With round games drawing to an end, SUWR have qualified for the finals with 10 wins and only 3 losses this season.

In a top of the table clash, the girls lost 15-17 in their catch up game with Warringah Rats last Thursday night, August 6. The close contest showed why the Rats are Sydney Uni’s biggest rivals. Tries were collected by Kimberley Davey and Barbara Waddell, conversion Ashleigh Hewson and penalty Ashleigh Hewson.

Tables turned on Saturday however, as the girls left Blacktown Scorpions scoreless at St John’s Oval. With a number of players resting for finals, less experienced players stepped up and some even had to play out of position. Given the circumstances everyone lifted to produce the impressive 24-0 score line (tries Michelle Bailey, Eloise Vunakece, Jade Fonua and Lulu Gray, conversions Lope Leaitaua).

The girls play Warringah Rats at 12pm this Saturday August 15 in the semi-finals at Granville Park (2 v 3).
