SUAC athletes competed in Sydney and Perth over the weekend, producing strong results in both cities.
In Perth at the Australian Athletics Tour Michelle Jenneke continued her great run of form winning the 100 metre hurdles in 13.11 seconds which is her 2nd fastest time for the event. In the women’s 400 metre Annie Rubie was 3rd and Amy Pejkovic was also 3rd with a jump of 1.74. Nick Van Gelder had a solid long jump condition and posted a 7.48 to finish 5th. Gen Cowie was also 5th in the 400 metre hurdles.
At the NSW 5000m Championships in Sydney, Danielle Allen ran a slick 16.49 to finsh 2nd on her debut on the track at this distance. Natalie Archer was 3rd with Melinda Witchard placing 5th. In the support races for the event Josh Clarke continued to impress winning both the 60 and the 200 metre in quick times. Larissa Pasternatsky also won the 400 metre and ran 2nd in the 200 metre. Shakti Rathore was 3rd in the men’s triple jump with a jump of 14.25.
This week’s action sees SUAC athletes compete at the ACT Championships as well as the NSW Masters Championships in Sydney.
