American Cheerleading is a fast growing sport in Australia. Competitive cheer is a physically intense activity which combines tumbling/gymnastics, dance, jumps and stunts to create high energy routines. It is a unique sport which relies heavily on teamwork and a strong team identity, improving social and leadership skills, as well as coordination, endurance, strength and flexibility.
The Sydney University Cheerleading Club offers the chance to compete at state and national competitions, and caters to all skill levels. In 2015, the club will be incorporating a recreational cheer program, offering a range of classes as a fun and unique way to get and stay fit.
