Sydney University Lions handed the Seahawks their first loss of the season in their American Football encounter under lights at University Square on Saturday night.
The Lions jumped out to a 14-point lead and stayed in front of Sutherland the whole way to end up 41-26 victors.
The offensive line paved the way for both Alex Watson (133 yards) and Mazen Safkouni (112 yards) to go over 100 yards on the ground, with Safkouni also holding two touchdowns through the air.
The Lions have two more home games at the Square. They’ll host Central Coast Sharks this Saturday night, with a 7pm kick-off, before building to their Homecoming Game against the Bondi Raiders on October 25.
All past players are encouraged to get back to the University to see the annual clash for the Shovel against the only other remaining foundation club.
The Homecoming Game will be under the lights at the Square, with a 7pm kick-off.
