As regular competition games come to a close for the week, Sydney Uni looks well placed to feature in many finals in the coming days.
Women’s Basketball and Women’s Tennis have progressed to the semifinals being held today, while Women’s Table Tennis is currently competing in the Gold medal match.
The major highlight of yesterday’s performances was the outstanding achievements made on the athletics track. A number of finals were held with Sydney University coming first in seven different events.
The women shone taking out the 100m, 400m, 1500m, 100m hurdles, and the 4 x 100m relay. Jin Su Jung also proved invaluable to the athletics team, winning the Men’s 100m, coming back from injury after the Commonwealth Games. The men also won the 4 x 100m relay.
The Sydney Uni Swim Team are also closing out the week strongly, currently placed second sitting on 180 points, just behind UNSW on 205 points. Stand out performers within the team include Te Haumi Maxwell who won gold in the 50m freestyle and 100m backstroke, Megan Ramsay who took out the 200m breaststroke and Ben Lindsay in the 50m butterfly. The men also combined to win the 4x100m freestyle relay in record breaking time.
