Brydens Sydney Uni Flames guard Katie-Rae Ebzery has been named in the 20-player Jayco Australian Opals squad that will head to the Gold Coast for an upcoming training camp starting on April 13.
Ebzery, the Flames joint 2013/14 MVP award winner, was part of the Opals 33-player squad that trained at the Basketball Australia National Centre of Excellence (CoE) a couple of weeks ago and is thrilled to be one step closer to making the final 2014 FIBA World Championship team.
“I’m really proud to have made it through to the next camp,” said Ebzery.
“Being on the Gold Coast will be a great experience, given I haven’t spent a whole lot of time there. It’s going to be tough, but I’m looking forward to the challenge.”
The Jayco Opals will spend six days on the Gold Coast from 13-18 April.
The 2014 FIBA World Championship for Women will be played in Turkey from 27 September to 5 October.
