SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Emma Jeffcoat was victorious at the Gatorade National Triathlon Sprint distance titles in Elwood, Victoria on Sunday.
The Bachelor of Advanced Nursing student braved the pouring rain and strong winds to finish the race in a time of 1:09.17 and placed first in the female 15-19 age group.
The course included a 750m swim (10:44), 20km bike leg (35:19) and a 5km run (19:56).
Jeffcoat spoke of her recent injury troubles, which made her victory even sweeter.
“After struggling with injury over the past three months it was great to be able to bring home the win and even better that it was a pain free race.”
