The first ever National Club Championship in American Football will be played at Sydney Uni with the support of the United States Studies Centre.
The mission of the United States Studies Centre is to increase understanding of the United States in Australia. The Centre runs activities which span the study of politics and policy, economics and business, culture and society. In addition to its academic programs, the Centre engages with the community through business leadership forums, public education and public events. And what better way to increase understanding of the United States in Australia than through a common love of sport!
The NCC Game will see our own Sydney Uni Lions take on the Gold Coast Stingrays for the national championship. The Lions have won the last 10 NSW titles while the Stingrays have won six of the last seven in Queensland. Only one team can be the best in Australia and the National Club Championship will settle the score.
The game will be played on 11 August 2013 on the Square at Sydney University. Make sure to arrive when the gates open at 12 noon, as there will be food and entertainment for the whole family, including live music and jumping castles for the kids, and a demonstration of women’s American football.
The United States Studies Centre is a proud supporter of the NCC Game.
