When extensions and refurbishments to the Sydney Uni Sports & Aquatic Centre (SUSAC) are completed in early August, the Brydens Sydney Uni Flames will stage their WNBL home games in one of the largest and best-equipped sporting and recreational facilities in Australia.

After 18 months and $15million spent on upgrading and expanding Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness’ (SUSF) facilities on the University of Sydney’s Darlington campus, including a new double basketball court sports stadium, SUSF will officially open the new centre on Thursday August 15.

In what will be the biggest step forward in sports infrastructure in the history of SUSF, the new centre will house all Brydens Sydney Uni Flames home games under the bright lights of the brand new 1200 spectator capacity sports stadium.

The new centre will also feature a large new group fitness room with a capacity of up to 70 people; a martial arts dojo; and a boxing room.

The expansion will make SUSAC one of the largest sporting and recreational facilities in Australia.

The Brydens Sydney Uni Flames first WNBL game on the new court will take place on Friday October 11 at 7.30pm against the Dandenong Rangers, a challenge that Coach Karen Dalton is relishing.

“We’re looking forward to playing in the new stadium at Sydney University and hope we can christen it with a win in our first home game,” she said.

They’re words being echoed by the new Brydens Sydney Uni Flames and their many fans.
