The Sydney Uni Women’s Water Polo team has ended its Sydney L1 Premiership schedule with an unblemished record after a come from behind 5-3 victory over Balmain on Saturday.
The Lions went into their final round match against the second placed Tigers short-handed, with several regulars unavailable.
The traditionally tough away venue of Dawn Fraser Baths didn’t bother the students, even though they had a shaky start, trailing 3-0 at half time.
With a little more discipline after the break Sydney Uni gradually wore down the Tigers to score the last five goals of the game.
Lea Barta was unbeatable in goals, with the Lions storming home for a 5-3 win.
Hannah Buckling scored 2 for Sydney Uni.
Sydney Uni has a bye in the final round and faces up to the fourth placed team in the semi finals on December 8.
