The Sydney University men’s water polo division one team has qualified for their fourth consecutive finals series with round to spare, after defeating the Balmain Tigers 7-3 at Dawn Fraser Swimming Pool on Saturday.
The victory over the Tigers also sewed up the minor premiership for the Lions, who have lost just one game this season – a one goal loss to Cronulla in round one M1 Summer competition on the final whistle. A number of Sydney Uni players were missing from this game.
The Lions have a bye this weekend before the finals series begins in a fortnight.
In further good news, Sydney Uni’s men’s second and third grade teams are also currently top of their respective ladders.
