The Sydney Uni American Football team were pushed all the way to final whistle, but showed plenty of steel to prevail 6-2 against UTS in Round 2 of the NSW Gridiron Football League to maintain a 29 year undefeated streak against the rival university.

The extremely hard fought victory – their 61st consecutive win – came in the face of blustery conditions on the Central Coast.

The hardnosed and under manned Lions’ defence was outstanding, stepping up to the plate to repel UTS all day long to maintain a perfect start to 2012.

Sitting in second place on point’s differential, the Lions next face off against the fifth placed North Western Predators at Neptune Park, Revesby this Saturday at 7pm.
