The Southern Design Sydney Uni Flames have secured one of the WNBL’s premier shooting guards — Sarah Graham for the 2012-13 WNBL Season.

A past World University Games member and WNBL Rookie of the Year recipient, Graham has joined the Flames after playing the last four seasons with the Logan Thunder.

Regarded as one of the League’s best three-point shooters, Graham will bring more strength to an already strong backcourt playing alongside Alicia Poto, Katie Rae Ebzery and Jaimee Kennedy.

In announcing the signing, Flames Coach Karen Dalton said it will be Graham’s versatility to play in both the point guard and off-guard position that will prove beneficial to the team throughout the season.

“Sarah is a potent three-point shooter and strong driver who led her team last year in scoring, averaging 14 points per game at a highly respectable 45 per cent in the regular season.

Graham’s ability to score beyond the arc, and teamed with her defensive tenacity, will cause problems for the opposition this upcoming season.”

The Southern Design Sydney Uni Flames will announce more signings in the coming weeks as they move closer to the start of the 2012-13 WNBL Season.
