The Sydney Uni Velo Club will host its first ever open club race this Sunday 26th February at Heffron Park, Maroubra.

There will be a Men’s A, B, C and D grade, as well as a Women’s A grade that take place from 7.30am onwards.

The Velo Club is very excited about the Women’s only grade, which is very rare for this level of cycling as women are often expected to race against men.

Sunday’s race is another very positive step for the Sydney Uni Velo Club, coming off the back of a surge in club memberships since the club was founded in 2010 and the club managing to attract some Sydney University Elite Athlete Program scholarship holders.

The first race starts at 7am, and entry is just $10. All cyclists are welcome to come along.

You are required to bring your Cycling Australia racing licence with you on the day. Recreational riders may purchase a one day licence on the day for $33.

New members are always welcome and the club has processes in place to develop new riders. Membership is open to students, faculty, alumni and individuals with no prior relationship with the University. For membership enquiries send an email to [email protected].
