Sydney University Athletics Club (SUAC) had yet another successful weekend, bringing home eight medals from the NSW State Relay Championships.
SUAC’s standout performers were the women’s 4×800 team (Larissa Stanley, Holly Pobjie, Joanna Cubis and Jo Dawson). The girls each gave spirited performances, with three of them posting season best times to hold off rivals UTS Norths to take the gold medal.
The women’s 4x1500m team (Larissa Stanley, Freya Wilson, Siobhan Clayton and Holly Pobjie) won the silver medal in oppressive conditions.
On the men’s side of the competition the standout performance was from the men’s 4×1500 (Brad Croker, Brett Halls, Dave Hutchinson and Hugh Williams) who staged a strong battle with eventual winners Mingara to finish second and take the silver medal.
Other good performances in the men’s competition came from the mens 4×800 (Ronana Casey, Daniel Macdonald, Brett Halls, Joshua Ralph) who took home the bronze medal. The men’s 4x javelin team also won the bronze medal (Andrew Giltrap, Andrew Baker, Chris McCrum, Alex Head).
