Sydney University’s Ben McCalman was once again solid at the back of the scrum, as the Wallabies had too much backline fire power, against a forwards-orientated Welsh team in Cardiff on Sunday morning, winning 25-16.
McCalman started at No.8, while fellow students Berrick Barnes, Luke Burgess and Dean Mumm all made second half appearances off the bench for a Wallabies team that scored three tries to one.
The Wallabies went in to the half-time break leading by the slightest of margins, 7-6, thanks to a converted Rocky Elsom try.
Despite having some trouble containing a strong Welsh scrum, which yielded a late try to Wales, the Wallabies always looked the more dangerous attacking team.
Two wonderful second half tries (Beale and Robinson) sealed a Wallabies victory.
