Sydney University Judo Club produced a host of winners at the recent NSW Judo Association’s Kyu Grades tournament.
The club produced medal winners in most divisions against strong competition from almost every judo club across NSW.
And it was the first competition for most of the students, many of whom are new to the sport and have only been training for a short time.
The club produced the top two performances in the men’s over 100kg division, with Sandy Fesq collecting the gold medal and James Perez the silver.
Max Joseph won the men’s under 86kg division, with Thomas Show finishing third, while Julian McDonald won the men’s under 78kg division, with David Greenup finishing second and Ben McMahon finishing fourth.
Andrew Roberts finished third in the men’s under 77kg division, while Bojan Djordgevic finished second and Jai Knight finished fourth in the men’s under 70kg division.
In women’s competition, Sydney University’s Sayuri Kawamura finished second in the Open division.
