The Universities Women’s Cricket Club (UWCC), a combined association from Sydney University and the University of NSW are offering a free skills day and the opportunity to meet some of the stars of the women’s game.
To be held on August 22, the free event is a great opportunity for junior and senior players alike to try cricket and learn some new skills, whether it be for the first time or in preparation for the upcoming season. If you have played cricket before and are looking for a new club, or ever wanted to try it, this is for you.
The highlight will of course be meeting the players, including Australian and NSW Breakers players Lisa
Sthalekar, Alex Blackwell and Kate Blackwell. Other players from UWCC will also be present, including
NSW and ACT representatives and grade players. Chat to them about what it’s like to play cricket at the
highest level and learn new skills from the best in the game.
There will also be an opportunity to register to play for UWCC in the 2009-10 season. Registrations or
expressions of interest will be taken for both Junior Girls (8-15 years) who will compete in the Sydney
Rivers Girls Cricket Competition, and Seniors (16+) who will compete in the Sydney Women’s Grade
Competition.
When: Saturday August 22nd, 2009
Junior Girls (8-15 years): 12.30pm til 3.00pm (all girls will receive a free cricket showbag)
Seniors (16+): 2.30pm til 5.00pm
