Jesse has had an impressive first year of senior football to date. With the club’s finals hopes on the line against North Shore on Saturday, Jesse was one of a number of young players to step up and lead the fight-back after an early onslaught by the hungry Bombers. Persistence and tackling pressure across the wing and half back set up several goal scoring opportunities, in particular during the second quarter. Moved onto the influential Ben Attwood and several other forwards through the second half, Jesse had a good battle with his more experienced opponents and took plenty of lessons away.

While the result was heart-breaking, the improvement of the Student’s developing list was encouraging and leaving supporters in no doubt that Martin will feature for the club in finals sooner rather than later.

Eligible for under 18 football, Jesse has played nine senior games this year and has slowly regained some confidence after an injury-imposed six week absence in the middle of the season. At this stage of his playing career, Jesse is a tall wingman with strong run and carry skills and doesn’t mind a booming shot on goal when the opportunity presents.

Jesse is a 2008 graduate of St Ignatius College, Riverview and now studying Medical Science at Sydney University. He is further supported by Sydney University Sport & Fitness and is a TRUST sporting-academic scholarship recipient.
