Sydney Uni Boat Club is among the oldest sporting club at Sydney University – but they sure do have some great young blood pumping through their club at the moment!

16 young men have been selected to represent, in NSW teams for the 2009 Interstate Regatta at Lake Barrington in Tasmania. These young men include; Terrance Alfred, Richard Allsop, Nicholas Hudson, Sam Loch, Fergus Pragnell, Matthew Ryan, Tobias Lister, James Goswell, Charles Budd, Edward de Carvalho, Edward White, Nick Purnell, Henry Mander, Ryan Edwards, William Gilbert and Ryan Barraclough.

But let’s not forget about Sydney University’s Women’s Rowing Club, who have also had 6 young women selected. These young women include; Elizabeth Kell, Bronwen Watson, Chloe O’Regan, Emma Costello, Ashleigh Peppernell and Beatrix Sheldrick.

Not only are these clubs turning out fine oarsmen, oarswomen and coxes, but they are also making their mark with supreme coaches. Coach Mark Prater has been selected to coach the men’s Penrith Cup team. Coach Phillip Bourguigon has been selected to coach the men’s Noel F Wilkinson Trophy (Youth Eight). And Coach Alan Bennette has been selected to coach the women’s Queens Cup team.

Congratulations to all of our committed athletes who have worked so hard to achieve these excellent results.
