Five time Paralympic medallist and former SUSF Elite Athlete Program (EAP) scholarship holder Angela Ballard has been selected in the Australian team heading to the 2013 International Paralympic Committee (IPC) IPC Athletics World Championships in France.
Ballard has won three gold medals at IPC Championships, the most recent of which was in 2002 – also in France – when she won the 100m.
Ballard and the rest of the 40-strong Australian team will leave for Europe in early July before the championships take place in Lyon from July 19-28.
The Championships will feature 1300 athletes from 90 countries. It is the second time France has played host to the event after Lille welcomed the world in 2002.
