A controversial decision after full-time saw Manly hold on to defeat Sydney University 25-19 in their round 10 Shute Shield match at Manly Oval on Saturday.

Alex Croak, a Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Program member and diver, has all but secured her selection on the Australian diving World Championship team after winning the women’s 10m synchro platform at the 2011 Australian Selection Trials over the weekend.

Over the last 12 months the Sydney Uni Kendo Club (SUKC) has experienced some of the most successful results the club has ever achieved, highlighted by Kelvin Tran’s gold in the Kyu-team tournament (non-black belt) representing NSW at the Australian Kendo Championships held on the Gold Coast in April this year.

Sydney University Football Club (SUFC), the Birthplace of Australian rugby which continues to breed many star Super Rugby and Wallaby greats, is teaming up with Australia’s World Champion gay rugby team, the Sydney Convicts, to help promote the message of diversity in sport and the community.

Sydney Uni Swim Club (SUSC) secured a very impressive eight medals at last weekend’s NSW State Open Championships held at the Sydney Olympic Pool & Aquatic Centre at Homebush.

Following on from a fine performance two weeks ago, where he picked up two silver medals, Canoe sprinter and Sydney Uni Elite Athlete Program scholarship holder Murray Stewart was again in top form over the weekend, taking bronze in the men’s K4 1000m at the 2011 ICF Canoe Sprint World Cup in Duisburg, Germany.

Sydney Uni Athletics Club (SUAC) men’s 4x4km team finished second to the highly regarded Randwick-Botany line up at the NSW X-Country Relay Championships held last Saturday afternoon at Miranda. 

Sydney University Australian Football Club defeated Wests by 45 points at Picken Oval last Saturday afternoon, keeping the students in equal first position on the ladder.
