Sydney University posted their fourth consecutive win, a 56-point result over Southport at Henson Park on Saturday, to keep in touch with the NEAFL competition leaders.

Jacob Derickx and Tim Barrett each kicked three goals and Jordan Law, Tom Young and Douglas Hadden bagged two apiece in the 17-goal performance.

Tom Young, Sam Fong, Kelvin Barnes, Derickx, Barrett and Matthew Rawlinson were strong performers for the University.

Having accounted for Ainslie, Northern Territory Thunder and Eastlake in the previous three weeks, Sydney University now sit in sixth place on the competition ladder, within a win of a the third and fourth-placed teams.

Aspley maintained the competition lead on 28 points after eight rounds, with UWS Giants (24), Sydney Swans (20), NT Thunder (20), Ainslie (16) and Sydney University (16) making up the top six.

Sydney University have a bye this weekend before meeting Ainslie in a vital match at Henson Park on June 13.
