Sydney University Athletics Club members James Nipperess and Lachlan Chisholm quinellared the recent 9km Sydney Bridge Run, leaving 5450 male finishers in their wake.

Nipperess, a Sydney University Sports Scholarship holder, completed the run in 26min 9sec, while Chisholm, also a Sports Scholarship holder, finishing second in 26m 50s.

The run was a final hit-out for Nipperess, who is presently competing at the 2010 Australian University Games in Perth, where he is captain of a strong Sydney University team.

It was also a timely run for Chisholm, a physiotherapy student, who has battled serious injury for the past four seasons having one back-to-back national 1500m championships in 2004 and 2005. He is also competing in Perth.

In a great morning for the Sydney University Athletic Club at the Bridge Run, another three athletes figured in the top 20, with national junior 5km medallist Hugh Williams finishing 7th, national 800m finalist Mark Abercromby finishing 15th, and club stalwart Nick Bellemore coming in 17th in a personal best time.
